One book that’s been out there for ages and doing incredibly well is Eleanor Oliphant is Absolutely Fine by Gail Honeyman. This seems to be a book that people either love (most do) or can’t get on with (the minority). But I was definitely in the first category. I really enjoyed it and loved the Eleanor character. I enjoyed her opinionated discussions, both those that took place in her own head, or those she voiced publicly. I have no idea how Gail Honeyman will be able to follow this, as it’s such a unique story, but I would strongly recommend it if you like characters that are just a little different! https://amzn.to/2L08TpG
