Probably best known for The Ice Twins, S.K. Tremayne weaves a chilling tale about a life governed and controlled by the technology in the protagonist's house. I found it a compelling story, with some strong and interesting characters. As something of a geek myself (I love technology - to a point) I had a fairly clear idea what was going on (but had no idea who was really in control), but nevertheless it paints a disturbing picture of what might happen if we let 'the assistant' take over. Currently only available on pre-order.
